Meditation Workshop on Tuesday and Free Day Retreat in June

Hi there,

Our Radical Dharma course is nearly complete — just two Tuesday evenings left. We’ve had a wonderful run, with lots of new faces joining us alongside our regulars, and the conversations have been genuinely alive. Here is a photo taken after the first evening of the course.

Each session stands alone, so it’s not too late to come for the first time. Just turn up.

Week 5 — Tuesday 12th May: Meditation Workshop This whole evening is dedicated to meditation. We’ll be going deeper into practice — exploring how to balance calm and alertness, work with energy and the breath, and build a sustainable daily meditation habit that actually sticks.

Week 6 — Tuesday 19th May: Wisdom We explore impermanence, interconnectedness, and why lasting happiness can’t come from outer things — only from inside. This is where everything we’ve covered over the course clicks together into a coherent and genuinely inspiring picture.

Millbridge Rooms, Hertford, 7:15pm. Free, donations welcome. Beginners and newcomers always very welcome.

It’s worth pausing to reflect what a gift it is to have a local sangha on your doorstep. Many people simply don’t have this. A place to meditate, to explore ideas that actually matter, to deepen spiritual friendships and make new ones. Please make the most of it and come as often as you can.

Free Day Retreat — Sunday 14th June, 10am–4pm Awareness is Revolutionary — led by Samudraghosha & Amber

Retreats give us something that weekly classes can’t quite reach — the chance to go deeper, slow right down, and let the practice really land. This free day retreat builds beautifully on the themes of the Radical Dharma course, and is open to everyone regardless of experience.

The day will include periods of Mindfulness of Breathing and Loving-Kindness meditation, teaching, and time for reflection in pairs and small groups. Please bring some vegetarian or vegan food to share for a lunch. Tea and coffee provided.

Book by 12pm Saturday 13th June by emailing: hertsbuddhistmeditation@gmail.com

Hope to see you soon.

With much warmth,

Keith and the Hertford Buddhist Sangha
